At the BIAMS/USAMS, we believe in strength through education, so this month, we want to introduce you to one of our heroes living with Spinal Cord Injury. Life with a SCI is not easy, but a full, productive and rewarding life is within reach of anyone with the strength to believe it and the courage to make it happen.

Meet a Mississippi SCI survivor, Antonio Wright, whose light shines like a beacon in the night despite the tragedies he has overcome due to a life-threatening motor vehicle accident on February 2, 1997. He was thrown from the car, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. Tragically, one month later, his younger brother was murdered. Most people would be left with anger and resentment, but not Coach Wright. His mission became to help at-risk youth live better lives and to show people with disabilities that they can play major roles in society. His life experiences, and how he handles them, provide inspiration to everyone.
